Dixie Coleman High Fiving a Student

An Open Letter to Parents, Guardians, and the Sheridan Elementary Community:

Dear Sheridan Stallions,

What an interesting time we are living in…one that allows us to demonstrate all the guiding principles we hold dear as a school community: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Positivity. I am proud of the way our students, parents, employees, and community leaders have collaborated to manage the unique demands we face to meet needs and safely educate our children.

Rest assured we have been working diligently to be prepared and proactive during these ever- changing times. This effort includes input from employees, administrators, parents,  medical professionals, and state and local leaders.  Through any and all circumstances, we will remain focused on intentionally serving the educational needs of all students.

Our school website and social media platform, as well as  district email, will serve as a means for sharing accurate information. I encourage parents to check these frequently for updates. In the upcoming weeks, we will release our Sheridan Re-entry Plan. Please know that this plan was crafted with the mission of creating the safest learning environment for our students.

Many of us have children and grandchildren that attend school in this district, and input for safe operations and procedures was given from those vital perspectives. Please feel free to share any concerns, ideas, and solutions as we embark on one of the most unusual school years in our history.  What an opportunity to demonstrate our true character!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Dixie Coleman, Principal
