Notes from the Principal:
This is going to be a wonderful school year! Our goals for staff and students are to build relationships and increase responsibility for making our school the best in the state of Kansas! Let’s start with making our drop off and pick up process safe, smooth, and satisfying for all. Please stay aware of cars and children during drop off and pick up times. We also ask that parents do not park in the west parking lot after school because this parking lot is where students congregate to meet parents from 3:15 to 3:30
Remember that breakfast does not start until 7:30 A.M. and we stop serving at 7:50 A.M. The first bell rings at 7:55 A.M., and we dismiss students to class. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 A.M. Please make sure your child is here on time to eat breakfast and get to class, but do not drop students off before 7:25 A.M. The bell rings at 3:15 for children to go home, and we exit and move to the west side of the building. Students must be picked up on time! You do have the option of joining the after school program if you have a need to pick up later. To apply for the After School Program, go to the Boys and Girls Club building on Elmdale Street or call 717-4900 for information.
Thank you for all of those that attended Parent Orientation, and as always thank you for supporting the wonderful teaching and learning taking place here at Sheridan Elementary

Notes from the Library:
Sheridan Library is excited to start the new school year off with tons of new books on crazy topics! How about these books…Lab of Fear, Investigations, Gross Facts, Space (Sci Fi), Can You Survive, Totally Wacky Facts, Mysteries, biographies…and of course Harry Potter, to go along with our Hogwarts Reading Challenge!
We have also issued all third – fifth graders their brand, spankin’ new Dell computers! Parents, thank you for supporting your students with technology by supervising them at home, modeling positive digital citizenship and care of equipment, setting limits on usage, and joining in the fun of learning through our educational web sites/projects.
If you have any questions, please contact me at Sheridan Library.

Hello Sheridan Families!
Our stallions have been working very hard in PE to start the new school year! Please remember your child needs a pair of PE shoes for class. This enables us to take better care of our school and, more importantly, your children. I am really proud of all of their effort and participation. A helpful tip for this month is to hydrate as much as you can. Water, and Gatorade are great drinks to help the body recover.
